The Cool Zoo, a wild and wet splash park, and Gator Run, a lazy river at Audubon Zoo, has a deal for you - a buy one, get one half off admission for the remainder of the 2016 season. The offer begins Wednesday July 20, and continues through Sunday, October 2, the last day of the 2016 schedule.

Admission to Cool Zoo, including Gator Run, is $10 for Audubon Nature Institute members and $12 for non-members, plus Audubon Zoo membership. The special offer admits two Audubon members for $15 and two non-members for $18.

Cool Zoo and Gator Run are open daily through August 14. The water park will begin a weekends-only schedule on August 15 through October 2, when Cool Zoo will close for the season.

This year, Cool Zoo debuted several changes designed to enhance the visitor experience, including multiple vantage points to view Audubon's new elephant habitat right next door to the water park. Other changes include the opening of the Gator Bites concession area, new lockers, new inner tubes with bottoms and a private room for nursing mothers.

Rafts are included in the admission price for Gator Run, a lazy river that's three feet deep and 10 feet wide. Visitors can bring their own towels or purchase them and other souvenirs at the Cool Shop.

Audubon Zoo, 6500 Magazine St., is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Labor Day. For details, click here.
