Each mermaid has their own unique conservation message that is meaningful to her, and they want to share information about protecting the oceans with guests. In addition to swimming in the Maya Reef, mermaids will also meet guests on dry land and happily pose for photos with their friends.

Mermaids can be found swimming at the Aquarium Thursday – Sunday on these dates and times:

Nov.  5-8, 2026; Nov. 12-15, 2026 and Nov. 19-22, 2026

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

Mermaids will also be out of water and meeting guests on those dates from 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 

In water or on dry land, Wands & Wishes Mermaids represent the connection of humans to the sea. Ocean conservation, marine animal protection and education are close their hearts and they incorporate educational information into each magical visit.

Watching the mermaids glide beneath the waters of the Great Maya Reef is a memorable and breathtaking experience for all ages and is included with Aquarium admission. In addition to watching the mermaids as they swim amid the colorful fish and rays in the Great Maya Reef exhibit at Audubon Aquarium, there are opportunities to meet the mermaids in person and take photos with them when they are on dry land.

This year, guests can also enjoy “Tea Under the Sea,” a separately ticketed event that includes a photo with a mermaid, crafts, plus tea sandwiches, mini scones, mini pastries, tea, coffee, mimosas for adults and mermaid punch for the kids. “Tea Under the Sea” is scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays while the mermaids are at Audubon Aquarium and requires Audubon Aquarium admission or Membership. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on each of the eight days, the mermaids will dance and dive beneath the surface of the Great Maya Reef, which is home to stingrays and tropical fish. Guests also can meet a mermaid up-close and have photos taken next to the penguin habitat on the Aquarium’s 2nd floor.

Know Before You Go

We expect the “Sea Grass Salon” to be very popular. Reservations should be made in advance and are highly recommended. To book your appointment at the Sea Grass Salon, please register using the link below. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to register.

• To participate, Guests must be between 3 and 12 years of age and be accompanied by an adult (18 years of age or older).
• Your mermaid transformation will take approximately 30 minutes
