Audubon Zoo Hosts Annual New Orleans Pelicans Day

Saturday, March 10, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Get ready to hoop it up when Audubon Zoo hosts New Orleans Pelicans Day on Saturday, March 10, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the Capital One Pavilion.

The fun-filled afternoon will feature appearances by team players, Pelicans dancers, mascot Pierre the Pelican and the Swoop Troop along with Pelicans drum line performances, contests, interactive games and more.

“Our city’s NBA team is investing in our community in many ways, including Pelicans Day at Audubon Zoo,’’ said Audubon Nature Institute President and CEO Ron Forman “Throughout the year, the Pelicans organization works to promote literacy and leadership, advocates healthy lifestyles and gets involved in preserving the health of our coastal wetlands by increasing awareness and funding research.’’

The day’s events kick off at 2 p.m. at the Capital One Stage, where a DJ will be on hand until 4 p.m. and Pelicans players will be signing autographs.

Guests also will enjoy animal encounters, stage entertainment, a Pelicans tattoo parlor and hair salon, an obstacle course, face painting, inflatables, magicians and jugglers. Pelicans team merchandise will be on sale.
