Download

Audubon Zoo is a special place for locals and visitors alike. From making memories with family and friends, learning about animals from around the world to spending time enjoying the natural beauty of the Zoo, Audubon Zoo is as unique as New Orleans itself.

For the 10th year in a row, Audubon Zoo has been nominated as one of the nation’s best zoos and you can help spread the word about your favorite zoo. From playful lion cubs to towering giraffes, and the award-winning Louisiana swamp exhibit to the antics of the orangutan family, Audubon Zoo combines learning with appreciation for the natural world.

USA Today’s 10Best Reader’s Choice Award contest recognizes top zoos each year. Last year, Audubon Zoo was ranked as the eighth most popular zoo in the country by voters in the competition and hopes to move even higher in the voting this year.

Voting is easy and begins today, Monday February 9, 2026. Anyone can vote once a day to show their support for Audubon Zoo. To cast your vote: http://voteaudubonzoo.com/

“We are thankful for the love and support from our community and from those who visit Audubon Zoo throughout the year,” said Michael J. Sawaya, Audubon Nature Institute CEO and L. Ronald Forman Chair in Conservation Leadership. “Being honored with this nomination for a decade is a true honor and a tribute to our team’s dedication to making our Zoo one of the best in the country.”

All of the nominees for USA Today’s 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards for Top Zoo are accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and are selected by an expert panel of travel professionals and editors for inclusion in the competition. Audubon’s family of attractions are consistently considered among the nation’s best in this contest.

Winners will be announced March 9, 2026.
