Celebrate May the 4th Early at Audubon Aquarium
Audubon Aquarium & Butterfly Garden is turning into a galaxy far, far away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for an out-of-this-world celebration at the popular downtown attractions. With May the 4th falling during the week, the Aquarium team is becoming one with the Force a couple of days early.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., members of the 501st Legion and other Star Wars-related fan groups will be at the Aquarium as part of the fun. Guests might see Stormtroopers patrolling through the Aquarium or a Mandalorian marching by. They may even encounter a droid or two!
Volunteer divers will be dueling with light sabers in the Aquarium’s Maya Reef tunnel four times during the day, each dive lasting about 45 minutes.
Times for underwater light saber dueling:
11:00 a.m.
12:30 p.m.
2:30 p.m.
3:30 p.m.
There will be special themed décor throughout the Aquarium & Butterfly Garden, so look closely – you may spot a connection in unexpected places like animal habitats. Guests can check out a map on-site to make sure they don’t miss any of the special themed exhibits.
All the fun is free with Aquarium admission and runs from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 only.
May the Force be with you.
