Audubon Nature Institute Partners with Thomas Morstead's Foundation to Collect School Supplies for Teachers and Students Impacted by Louisiana Flooding

(New Orleans, La.) - Audubon Nature Institute is teaming up with New Orleans Saints player Thomas Morstead and his foundation, What You Give Will Grow, to support Team Comeback, an initiative to collect school supplies for students affected by the recent Louisiana floods.

Through September 18, guests visiting Audubon attractions will receive $5 off general admission prices with the donation of a school supply item from the Team Comeback list. See full supply list here: http://www.teamcomeback.org/donate-supplies.

"When we saw the devastation of the flood, we knew there were going to be a lot of people who needed help," said Dennis Lomonaco, What You Give Will Grow Executive Director. "With our foundation's focus on helping children, we saw a quickly-approaching school year as our chance to act. Thomas wanted to do whatever he could, but with training camp and the upcoming Saints season, he didn't have much time to spare. Our foundation, What You Give Will Grow, was able to jump into action with Team Comeback Kids."

Lomonaco adds, "Our goal is to deliver 50,000 filled backpacks to flood-affected students who need them. Our partnership with the Audubon Nature Institute allows us the ability to make this goal a possibility! We can't let this flood take education."

Labeled bins are located at Guest Services and Member entrances at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, and Audubon Zoo and are accessible to anyone who would like to donate.

"We're proud to partner with Thomas Morstead's foundation on this important initiative. With an estimated 200,000 children in Louisiana affected by the flooding, it is imperative we help them return to school with the tools they need."
