Summer is winding down and that means changes are coming to Audubon Nature Institute's schedule, including Cool Zoo/Gator Run water park, which will close for the season after Labor Day on Monday, September 4.

Beginning September 11, Audubon Zoo, Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium and Entergy Giant Screen Theater will be closed on Mondays through the end of February excluding special holiday openings the Monday before Thanksgiving, November 20; New Year's Day, January 1; Martin Luther King Day, January 15; and Lundi Gras, February 12.

Audubon Zoo will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Friday through February. Operating hours at the Aquarium and Entergy Giant Screen Theater will remain 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Insectarium operating hours will remain 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Audubon will resume a seven-days-a-week schedule in March.

Cool Zoo and the Gator Run lazy river will be open the weekend of August 26 and 27 and September 2 through 4 for the Labor Day weekend before the water park closes for the fall and winter. The water park will reopen in the spring.
